In a coastal stretch of the eastern Ligurian coast about 10 km long, there are five ancient villages - Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, which overlook the sea.
Isolated by nature from the main communication routes, Cinque Terre have been able to maintain their urban structure unchanged over the centuries and thanks to the geographical features of the area where they arise, they constitute one of the most attractive tourist resorts of Liguria and Italy.
Cinque Terre area was included in 1997 by UNESCO in the "WORLD HERITAGE LIST" (World Heritage Site) and was therefore recognized as one of the most beautiful sites of naturalistic interest in the world.
