TREKKING IN CINQUE TERRE PARK - TRIP CODE: CQTREKKING

Day 1: Levanto, Monterosso and Punta Mesco
Arrival in Levanto in the morning and visit of the village. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, meeting with the tour guide and begin of an easy hike in a wild and spectacular promontory. Starting from the village of Levanto climbing rapidly between crops and typical Mediterranean vegetation, crossing places of incomparable beauty and cliffs overlooking the sea, you will arrive at Punta Mesco Promontory, then to the ruins of St. Anthony Monastery and the to the military lantern, from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the rocky coast of the Cinque Terre Park. Descent to the village of Monterosso (path length approx. 3 h). Transfer to the hotel, accommodation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: The Cinque Terre Park
Breakfast in the hotel, meeting with the tour guide and transfer to Riomaggiore by train, the first village of the park, from where begins our excursion. Cinque Terre National Park is composed by five villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. The hiking begins with the famous path "Via dell’Amore" that connects Riomaggiore to Manarola, and, continuing on "Sentiero Azzurro", visit of all the other villages. In addition to very beautiful churches and sanctuaries, the particularity of this area is the landscape with terraces overlooking the sea whit a lot of vineyards producing excellent wines DOC, as Schiacchetrà and olive groves. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon wine tasting in a very beautiful winery in Monterosso. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Trekking Riomaggiore - Portovenere
Breakfast at the hotel and baggage preparation. Meeting with the tour guide and transfer by train to the village of Riomaggiore. From there begins of a trekking that will take us to Portovenere. From the village arrive immediately to the Sanctuary of Montenero, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view and continuing, with many ups and downs, partly in the woods on the ridge of the socalled "tramonti", arrive to Muzzerone, spectacular balcony. Passing through the village of Campiglia then descends to Portovenere with amazing view of the La Spezia Gulf, of the Apuan Alps, on the Plains of Magra and of the Palmaria Island (path length approx. 5 h). Free time for lunch. In the afternoon guided tour of the village of Portovenere with its harbor, the small Church of St. Peter, built on the top of the village where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the sea, the twelfth century castle and Byron's Cave, where the English poet went to get inspiration for his poetry. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation in rooms, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: The Island Palmaria
Breakfast at the hotel and baggage preparation. In the morning meeting with the tour guide and transfer by boat on the Palmaria Island. Hiking on the island where, through easy paths and gorgeous blooms, we will be immersed in an environment of picturesque and unspoiled beauty (path length approx. 2h 30 min.). Return to Portovenere. Free time for lunch and departure.
