TOUR OF MONACO PRINCIPALITY - TRIP CODE: PRINCMONEN
Coming from Italy, take a beautiful panoramic road up to the Principality of Monaco.
The tour continues by bus to the old town of Monaco, called le Rocher and begins the guided tour of the historic centre, where the tour guide will illustrate the most significant monuments such as:
- THE OCEANOGRAPHIC MUSEUM: founded by Prince Albert I in 1910, it is very renowned as it boasts one of the best aquariums in Europe with ninety tanks, a collection of corals and pearls, a huge whale skeleton and a breathtaking panoramic terrace. For many years the museum was directed by Commander Jacques Cousteau.
- THE CATHEDRAL: it was built with a local white stone during the 19th century in neo-Romanesque style, it houses the burial of S.A.S. Princess Grace and S.A.S. Prince Rainier.
- PALAZZO GRIMALDI: residence of the Prince of Monaco S.A.S. Alberto II, can be visited only in part in the period from April to October. In addition, at 11.55 it is possible to attend the Changing of the Guard which, however, is repeated every hour to a lesser extent.
Free time to photograph or to stroll in the typical "alleys" where you can find dozens of souvenir shops.
