4 days 3 nights

1st day: Arrival in Genoa

Arrival in Genoa in the late afternoon, hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight.

2nd day: Genoa and the Singer De Andrè

Breakfast at the hotel and a day dedicated to discover the favourite places of De Andrè.

The Museum of Via del Campo  is in the heart of this city. At number 29 of Via del Campo, one of the historic places of his Genoa, what was once the music shop of his friend Gianni Tassio is now the museum Via del Campo 29 red, dedicated to the songwriter and his friends and colleagues Genoese, including Luigi Tenco. The museum is also home to the Genoa Club Fabrizio De André.

Walking through the characteristic district of La Maddalena, where the most emblematic characters of the songs of De André came to life between brothels and prostitutes, it is possible to reach Via Roma 51 and enjoy the authentic delicacies of the ancient confectionery Romanengo, quoted in the song “Shipwreck of London Valour”.

Tasting of typical products and visit of the ancient historic confectionery shop. The story of Faber echoes in the arcades of Sottoripa, where in the 50s De André used to go to the Ragno Verde club with his friend Paolo Villaggio, quoted in the novel "A ridiculous fate". During the early years of his job Fabrizio performed in another mythical place, La Borsa di Arlecchino in Via XX Settembre; on the same sidewalk walked the streets Anna la Gorilla, with whom it’s said that for a time De André even lived together. A stop on a bench of the celebrated “Creuza de Mä” will allow you to admire the picturesque ancient port of Genoa and imagine Faber as he stretches the recorder to the clamor of the fishmongers of the fish market to insert it in the recording of Creuza de mä.

In front of the Palazzo Ducale you can visit Teatro Carlo Felice, on whose stage the Genoese songwriter held the memorable concert on Christmas Eve 1997. The itinerary in the footsteps of Fabrizio De André continues with a visit to the Latteria Igea, at the corner of Via Cecchi and Via Casaregis, which Gino Paoli remembers in one of his songs: the Four friends at the bar were Paoli, Fabrizio, Tenco, and the lyricist Riccardo Mannerini, who lived in the bar building, and from whose poems songs like The song of the drug addicts were born. Last stop in the district of Sant'Ilario, which will give you an exceptional view of Genoa. Here you will find the old railway station of Bocca di Rosa and a book-shaped sculpture on which you can read an acrostic dedicated to the protagonist of one of Faber’s most beloved songs. Genoa is in the music, but also a lot in the life of the appreciated songwriter. Among the scents and flavors of the arcades of Sottoripa, between fryers and historic groceries where you can still taste "A cimma", the traditional dish of veal and vegetables, to which he dedicated a song in dialect.

Free lunch in the old town during the day, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
