The Doria Castle of Dolceacqua rises on a rocky spur to control the Nervia Valley from the 11th Century, created by the Counts of Ventimiglia.
During its history, it has experienced alternating phases between a noble residence and a military fortress.
In 1270 it was purchased by Oberto Doria and expanded.
In 1744 it was partially destroyed but the current structure remains.
Still today it keeps intact the rare beauty that takes you back in time.
